Psidium Arboretum

ARAÇA-ACU - comes from tupi guarani and means "Fruit that has eyes" because of the persistent sepals and the adjective Açu indicates the quality of the fruit and the large tree. It is also named: Woody, Treey, and Amazon treey Woody. The fruits are very sour. The best way to consume the fruit is in juice form or in the form that benefits sweets, jams and ice cream. The flowers are apiary and the tree is very ornamental because of the smooth, color-changing trunk throughout the year.
