Seeds were imported from Brazil, and some are germinating. Laranjinha do mato is a very variable plant ranging from a semi-deciduous small shrub less than 1 meter tall when growing on poor, sandy soils near the coast, to a tree 10 - 20 meters tall when growing in pine forests. The edible fruit is gathered from the wild for local use, and the plant is also sometimes cultivated in home gardens. Seeds will be shipped in humid vermiculite.
