Seed was imported from Brazil. A quite rare, red to black skinned Eugenia native to parts of Brazil. Bears small, cherry like, edible fruits that ripen to deep red. Short, shrubby growth to 10-20 feet. This species could be hardy to short periods as low as 25F. Quite interesting and prolific in fruiting.
