Seeds were imported from Brazil. This tree/shrub grows to around 3-5 meters in the wild, though should be able to be kept smaller in cultivation. This is a newly discovered and very unique Eugenia. It produces small single seeded orange fruits that are sweet, and tastes similar to a mango. it was registered predominantly in stepic-savanna vegetation (“Caatinga”) from the states of Ceará and Piauí, frequently associated with the sedimentary basin of Ibiapaba Complex. The new species is morphologically close to E. dysenterica.
