This is not the normal Cherry of the Rio Grande, this is the Bens Beaut variety. Selected for its large fruits, consistent fruit sets, and superior flavor. This is a fruit tree from the subtropics of Brazil.  It is cold tolerant to about 20F, as long as exposure is brief, and the tree is mature. They seem to enjoy part shade if your temps go above 90 degree Fahrenheit. This is considered to be one of the best Eugenia to eat out of hand. This tree is over a year old!
