Campomanesia Rufa - Gabiroba Mineira

Seeds were imported from Brazil. Seeds are germinated and ready to be planted as soon as possible. Species of guabiroba endemic to the State of Minas Gerais , it is threatened with extinction. Occurring with some rarity in nature, it is found mainly in areas of intense mining activity, such as in the ferruginous rock fields of the Quadrilátero Ferrífero region. It produces a large amount of fruit with a greenish rind, with a sweet translucent pulp and excellent flavor. Great for in-natura consumption, or in the form of juices, jellies and ice creams. Small shrub, usually no more than 3 meters tall. Very ornamental, it has a beautiful husky trunk and thick leaves. Its small white blooms attract honeybees.
