Myrciaria sp. ‘Nara’ is a rare and highly ornamental Myrciaria species native to the Atlantic Forest (Mata Atlântica) of Bahia, Brazil. This species stands out immediately for its unusually bright orange fruits, a color that is still uncommon within the genus.

The fruits measure approximately 2–2.5 cm in diameter and develop a fragrant, sweet aroma as they ripen. The pulp is very juicy, with a flavor often described as a blend of jaboticaba and apricot, combining sweetness with gentle acidic undertones. While the fruit is not extremely thick-fleshed, the flavor quality is considered excellent and very pleasant for fresh consumption.

The tree itself is highly ornamental, producing very small, delicate leaves, reminiscent of Eugenia delicata or Myrciaria sp. do João. The trunk and bark develop attractive reddish tones, adding to the plant’s ornamental appeal even when not in fruit. In habitat, it can reach up to approximately 16 meters tall, though it may remain smaller under cultivation or in managed settings.

As with many Atlantic Forest Myrciaria, this species is well adapted to humid conditions and benefits from rich, well-drained soils.

Seeds are sold in packs of one. They are shipped in humid vermiculite.
