This species was imported as seed from Brazil. This is a newly discovered species of Jaboticaba found in Itacare Bahia Brazil. The tree grows to just 4 meters, and like most other Jaboticaba species it can be easily grown in a container. This species grows as more of a bush, instead of a tree. It grows from many small thin branches from the ground making it quite unique in terms of Jaboticaba. The fruits have the nice Jaboticaba flavor, with a nice sweetness, but also a pleasant sourness to them as well. The fruits are dark burgundy when ripe, and have a small thin strip at the bottom of the fruit. There is plenty of white juicy flesh to enjoy and usually two seeds. We are very excited about this species, and cannot wait to taste the fruit! Seeds are germinated and will be shipped in humid vermiculite.
