Plinia Costaricensis - GERMINATED
Plinia costaricensis is a newly discovered and extremely rare species of Plinia, native to Costa Rica. This remarkable tree has drawn significant attention for its potential in commercial fruit production, thanks to its beautiful and highly appealing fruit. The fruits are large, reaching up to 6 cm in diameter, and are known for their sweet, slightly tart flavor that strongly resembles mango. The pulp is smooth and melting, completely free of fiber, making it especially enjoyable to eat fresh.
Mature trees of Plinia costaricensis can grow impressively tall, reaching heights of up to 35 meters, with a trunk diameter of about 40 cm. They are known to produce fruit in abundance, further adding to the species' appeal for cultivation. Although still largely unknown outside of its native range, the exceptional fruit quality and productivity of this species suggest that it could become an important addition to tropical fruit agriculture, provided it receives the attention and propagation efforts it deserves.
Seeds are from a cultivated tree and are shipped in packs of one, in humid vermiculite.
