Myrciaria sp. Nordestina is a coastal selection cultivated in Alagoas, Brazil, growing just 10 meters from the ocean. The mother tree is several years old yet remains relatively compact at around 5 meters in height, while producing heavy crops of colorful fruit.
The fruits are sweet with a pleasant, well-balanced flavor. Although the seed is fairly large and the pulp layer is thinner than some other Myrciaria species, the taste makes it worthwhile. Its manageable size and strong production suggest it could perform very well in containers.
Seeds are sold in packs of one. They are shipped in humid vermiculite.
