Myrciaria sp. Chartreuse - GERMINATED

$20.00

Myrciaria sp. 'Chartreuse' is a recently discovered and still undescribed species native to the coastal Atlantic Rainforest of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where it grows in little-explored forests overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It belongs to the group of yellow-fruited Myrciaria species, alongside Myrciaria guaquiea, M. glazioviana, and M. strigipes, yet it is clearly distinguished from each by its unique morphology. Due to its recent discovery and extremely limited distribution, it remains exceptionally rare in cultivation and is highly sought after by collectors of rare Brazilian fruit trees.

The species produces unusually large fruits that ripen to a remarkable chartreuse color—a vibrant yellow-green unlike any other known Myrciaria. The flesh has a pleasant sweet flavor balanced by mild acidity, making it an enjoyable fruit for fresh eating. Its distinctive fruit color, excellent flavor, and botanical uniqueness make it one of the most exciting recent introductions from Brazil's Atlantic Forest.

With its combination of rarity, ornamental appeal, and delicious fruit, Myrciaria sp. 'Chartreuse' is an outstanding addition to any serious collection of tropical fruit species and Myrtaceae.

Seeds are shipped in packs of 1, shipped in humid vermiculite.
