Seeds were imported from Brazil. Mouriri Guianensis is an evergreen shrub or tree with a low, dense, rounded crown; it can grow 4 - 9 meters tall. The short bole can be 15 - 25cm in diameter. The lower branches usually touch the ground. The tree provides an edible fruit for the local population. Usually gathered from the wild, it is also sometimes cultivated in home gardens. The fruit is consumed raw, it produces orange-red, globose fruit that has a sweet, mucilaginous pulp. It is up to 25mm in diameter, containing 1 - 3 seeds. Seeds will be shipped in vermiculite.
