Eugenia sp. ‘Ametista’

$12.00

Eugenia sp. ‘Ametista’ is a striking and newly introduced Eugenia from the Atlantic Forest (Mata Atlântica) of Bahia, Brazil, specifically the Ilhéus region. In habitat, the tree reaches approximately 8 meters in height, but an estimated 50–60% of seedlings show strong potential for container cultivation, especially when properly pruned, making this an excellent choice for collectors and small gardens.

The fruits are around 2 cm in diameter and feature a deep purple, jewel-like flesh, which inspired the name Ametista. The pulp is exceptionally juicy, very sweet, and aromatic, and when fully ripe, the flesh separates cleanly from the seed, making it especially enjoyable to eat fresh. With its vibrant coloration, excellent texture, and strong ornamental appeal, Eugenia sp. ‘Ametista’ stands out as a high-quality fruiting Eugenia for serious collectors.

Seeds are sold in packs of one. They are shipped in humid vermiculite.
