Its main common name was given due to this small fruit being found abundantly in the past in the native vegetation of Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. It produces small orange pear-shaped fruits with a pleasant sweet taste. It bears fruit several times a year, with greater intensity from October to December. Very ornamental plant, great to be grown in gardens, orchards or even in vases, as long as proper handling is done. As it reaches a maximum height of 6 meters.
