Plinia sp. "Danda"
Plinia sp. "Danda" is a jaboticaba-type tree reaching around 8 meters in height, found in the region of Camamu, Bahia. Like other Plinia species, it is a slow-growing, cauliflorous tree with dense, glossy foliage and a strong affinity for humid tropical climates. It thrives in well-drained soils and produces fruit directly on its trunk and main branches.
The fruits are distinctive—burgundy with subtle striping and a short neck near the stem attachment. This gives them a unique appearance compared to more common jaboticaba varieties. While the internal characteristics are still being studied, the fruit shows promise for fresh consumption or small-scale specialty cultivation. This is a rare variety with limited stock.
Seeds are sold in packs of 1, shipped in humid vermiculite.
