Mangifera caesia – White Mango, Binjai, or Wani
Mangifera caesia, commonly known as white mango, binjai, or wani, is a tropical fruit tree native to Southeast Asia, particularly found in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, and the Philippines. Belonging to the Anacardiaceae family, this close relative of the common mango (Mangifera indica) produces large, oval fruits with a thick, greenish to pale yellow skin. The aromatic white pulp is juicy, sweet to slightly acidic, and highly prized for its refreshing flavor. In some regions, the fruits are eaten fresh, while in others they are used in juices, desserts, and preserves.
The tree can grow up to 30 meters tall and thrives in humid, lowland tropical climates with deep, well-drained soils. It performs best under full sun and regular rainfall. Aside from its delicious fruits, Mangifera caesia plays an important ecological role by providing shade and habitat for wildlife. The wood is sometimes used for light construction, and various parts of the plant are used in traditional medicine for treating diarrhea, skin ailments, and inflammation.
Seeds are from a cultivated tree and are shipped in packs of one, in humid vermiculite. SEEDS ARE VERY HARD TO FIND. THIS BATCH IS VERY VERY FRESH. Its the first time I have gotten viable seeds after several attempts. Thank you!
