Eugenia sp Cheiroso Fruto Passado - GERMINATED
Seeds were imported from Brazil and are starting to germinate. This is a rather big tree found recently in Itacaré Bahia Brazil. It was found growing at 15 meters in heigh. The fruits are burgundy, elongated, containing a single seeds. There is a good amount of flesh surrounding the seed, that is the same color as the skin of the fruit. The flesh with sweet, and the skin is slightly astringent. The collector reported it has a 60:40 flesh to seed ratio. The foliage of this Eugenia is large and pointed, as seen in the photos. It should be a good one for ornamental purposes as well. Seeds will be shipped in humid vermiculite.
